It’s a universal ribbon on spools that fit many Remington models. The bad part is, the ribbon contains reversing rivets. Most if not all Remingtons, like my 1949 All New Personal, don’t use that system. So when the rivet comes around it gets jammed in the ribbon carrier. I cut off the rivets and put the ribbon on the original spools.

You will just have to take the center out of the empty spool side, install it, and then spin the spool until the ribbon is wrapped around the opposite spool (if that makes sense).
