Typekit began as a standalone web font subscription service, then became Adobe Fonts in 2018.

Your Adobe Typekit fonts not showing up in Illustrator, Photoshop, or any other Adobe application is most likely due to one of two reasons: 1.) the Creative Cloud application is running, but your preferences are not set to sync Typekit fonts with your installed applications.
Why are my fonts not activating in Adobe?
Toggle the Adobe Fonts setting If the fonts are not active, try turning off the font option in Creative Cloud, wait a moment, and then turn it back on. Open the menu from the gear icon at the top of Creative Cloud desktop. Choose Services, and then toggle Adobe Fonts to turn it off and back on.

As Adobe Fonts, we are consolidating all previous Typekit plans into one streamlined service that gives you our complete library as part of all Creative Cloud plans.
How does Adobe Typekit work?
Typekit includes fonts from 60 or so foundries (remember, type used to be made of metal). They live on your hard drive and you can use them in any program that supports a font menu (even non-Adobe ones), you can embed them into PDFs, convert their characters to paths in Photoshop or Illustrator, and so on.

- Open the Creative Cloud desktop app. (Select the icon in your Windows taskbar or the macOS menu bar.)
- Select the fonts icon in the upper right.
- Browse or search for fonts.
- When you find a font you like, select View Family to view its family page.
- Open the Activate Fonts menu.
