Endometriosis in the Bartholin gland may present itself with cyclic pain and swelling during menstruation. It presents as a dark red, brown, or blue cystic swelling at the posterior half of the vulva.

There may be a build-up of white or yellow pus in the gland. You may feel unwell and have a high temperature; the skin over the abscess tends to become red, hot and very tender.
